Bold Coast, Cutler For nature lovers, there are scenic hiking trails at Cutler's Bold Coast, Western Head and Boot Cove, Quoddy Head State Park and Moosehorn Wildlife Refuge. Jasper Beach in Machiasport and Herring Cove Beach at Campobello are beachcomber's paradise.

Boat trips to Machias Seal Island to visit the nesting puffins, terns and other seabirds are available in Cutler, as are coastal sightseeing tours. Sea kayak rentals and guided tours are also available in the area, providing another way to experience the pristine coastline as well as enjoy seabird and marine life.

West Quoddy Head lighthouse, Lubec Of historic interest is the former summer home of Franklin D. Roosevelt located on Campobello Island; the 1770 Burnham Tavern in Machias; and the Gates House, home of the Machiasport Historical Society, overlooking the site of the first naval battle of the American Revolution which took place in Machias Bay in 1775.

Also nearby are golf courses, fresh or salt-water swimming, canoeing, public boat landings, and great fishing opportunities on nearby lakes and rivers.
